Double-Check When You Get Home
Mobile applications are incredibly convenient, but don’t forget to double-check your transactions later. Pay close attention to your transaction history by reviewing all your accounts on a regular basis. Watch for transactions you did not approve or that are made for a different amount than you intended. Credit card thieves, for example, often make a very small purchase to ensure a card is active and usable. If the small transaction is approved, the next transactions could be for hundreds or thousands of dollars.
When you bank by using a mobile device, don’t forget to follow up later. Safe is always better than sorry – and the time you spend reviewing your accounts helps ensure you have a good handle on your money and your budget.
